AbstractBenny Carter and his Orchestra perform "Melancholy Lullaby" (theme) and "I'll See You in My Dreams" at the Savoy Ballroom in New York. Both sides of the lacquer disc derive from a radio broadcast aircheck (WJZ). Carter performs the alto saxophone in the first tune and the trumpet in the second tune. Carter arranged and composed "Melancholy Lullaby."
