AbstractBenny Carter (alto saxophone) and his Orchestra perform "Melancholy Lullaby" (theme) and "I'm Coming, Virginia" at the Savoy Ballroom in New York. Both sides of the lacquer disc derive from a radio broadcast aircheck (WJZ). Carter composed "Melancholy Lullaby " and arranged both tunes.
