NOTE: The first of two 16” acetates from which this broadcast was transferred ends during Martha Tilton’s vocal in “You Couldn’t Be Cuter”; the second resumes during a continuation of her vocal chorus. Although the two ET’s are carefully spliced for this transfer, the splice is detectable. Thus it may be worthwhile to retain this rendition as included in the bootleg LP, Sunbeam 152. If I decide to retain it, that cut will be transferred to a “general” tape for the year 1938. There is a seven-second gap - - probably a line interruption - - in the transcription of “Don’t Be That Way,” which mars an otherwise excellent performance.
NOTE: A 90-second interval of uninterrupted tape precedes the next transfer, to accommodate the possible future acquisition of the opening announcement and opening theme, missing from the cassette provided by R. J. Reynolds.
