DescriptionThis video comes from The Private Universe Project in Mathematics and includes narrative voice-over interspersed with footage of a task-based interview with Stephanie and researcher, Robert Speiser. Stephanie revisits building towers with two colors of Unifix cubes available, and considers the towers in relation to Pascal's Triangle. She explores towers of height two and how the physical models map to numbers in the corresponding row of Pascal's Triangle. Then Stephanie responds to the researcher's questions by considering towers of height three and how they are formed from two-tall towers, and she explains the process in terms of the addition rule of Pascal's Triangle.
